Skyy Moore Parents And His Path To NFL As A New Kensington Native

Skyy Moore parents  Roger Moore and Timika Hastie are from New Kensington city of Pennsylvania. Skyy was raised by a single mother.

Skyy is a wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs. The chiefs drafted Moore in the 2nd round in 2022.

He has been active in the Chiefs roster since 2022 and made 250 receiving yards in 22 receptions.

Starting his collegiate career at Western Michigan University in 2019, he played 30 games, scored 16 touchdowns, and made 2,482 receiving yards.

Moore is the recipient of multiple achievements: his recent Super Bowl LVII win in 2023. Moreover, he has also been named First-Team All-MAC twice and became Second-team All-MAC in 2020.

Sky Moore was born to mom Timika Hastie and dad Roger Moore. 

The couple separated during Skyy’s childhood. Timika raised Skyy alone. 

Timika was with him during his NFL draft night when the KC head coach called him. Her excitement and pride for her son knew no bounds at that moment. 

Timika is a vocal supporter of Skyy 

Timika shared a photo of Skyy on her Facebook on November 8, 2011. She stated that her son was an NFL player in the making. 

Skyy was just 11 at that time. Her wish came true in 2022 when the Chiefs selected him for the WR role. 

Looking back at the memorable photo, Moore stated how Timika believed him at such a young age. He had told his mother that he wanted to be in the NFL in the 1st grade, and Timika made sure to cheer him on every given moment. 

Timika shared a Facebook post on April 30, 2022, highlighting her son’s draft to the Chiefs. She penned, “KC BABY,” and the mother-son duo shared an emotional moment hugging each other. 

Timika also shared her excitement about Skyy’s involvement in the Super Bowl LVII with WTAE-TV on February 10, 2023. 

She told how she cried when Skyy went for the punt return and caught it successfully. She also described her nervousness during that moment. Hastie is proud of what her son has achieved in his rookie year. 

Hastie also promoted Skyy’s clothing start-up, “Dying Breed,” on her Facebook in February 2021. She told her friends to support her young entrepreneur and pre-order his stylish, quality hoodies. 

Skyy’s mother is proud of her hometown

Timika Hastie is native of New Kensington, Pensalvynnia.  

Her education also happened in her hometown, i,e, New Kensington Valley High School. 

She showcased a cool shirt on November 15, 2015, via Facebook, and the shirt contained the words “Straight outta New Kensington” imprinted in bold letters. 

One user humorously commented, “Oh, she’s from new Kensington,” while another remarked that they, too, needed that epic shirt quickly.

In June 2022, Timika talked about the Annual Summer Slam event in New Kensington organized by Sky’s ‘Dying Breed’ firm, featuring a basketball tournament and entertainment shows at Memorial Park.

Timika is involved in Charity

TImika has been supportive of the charity work done by Skyy’s school, the Shady Side Academy. 

She has indulged herself in support of Student Financial Assistance and Faculty Endowment fundraising efforts to help needy students and secure the teacher’s future. 

She is part of the Campaign for Shady Side’s Endowment Fund, which has allocated 8 million dollars. 

Timika also put a support message for the campaign. She stated that Shady Side was a good fit for her son and that she was fortunate for the campaign donors who helped her son into what he is today.

Skyy has a brother, Landyn Moore, and a sister, Layke Moore, in the family. 

Timika shared their adorable group photo on her Facebook handle on 21st February 2012 when they were just children at a park. All three of them spent their childhood with their mom in New Kensington.  

As of 2023, Landyn and Layke have grown up and are following their professional paths. However, both have supported their sibling’ Skyy’s NFL achievements. 

Landyn Moore is a football player like Skyy

Landyn Moore plays football for Fox Chapel Area High School. 

He has been playing for the team since 2021 as its Wide Receiver. He also plays in the defense as the Defensive back.

In his two seasons for the school team, he made one touchdown and 70 receiving yards in 5 games as the WR. 

As the DB, he has played five games and made six tackles and one sack. 

Landyn is proud of his football life and shared a post of him in his team gear on his Instagram, saying a cool quote that he was a golden ticket and there were not too many like him. 

Layke Moore is a shoe artist

Layke Moore is the creative director of the LaykeCreates organization. 

She excels in making custom designs for shoes and takes her orders from her business’ IG page. She provides her service for footwear of all sizes. Her office is based in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. 

Layke showcased her work on 19th September 2022, where she designed an Air Force 1 shoe with a cotton candy theme. 

She did another work on the Nike sneakers, with a Superman theme, filled with a red and blue finish. 

Moreover, she also attends Skyy’s home games in the Arrowhead Stadium to cheer for him. She shared an IG story in 2022, highlighting the famous Tomahawk chop chant with the Chiefs fans in the stadium. 

Tomika, Layke, and Landon were all present to celebrate the AFC Championship win on 30th January 2023. Layke shared their family photo on her IG with the caption, members only. 

The siblings also spend quality time together, going on a shopping spree in April 2022 and vacationing on Florida beaches in July 2022.
